Dark Side Edition BB-8 (BB-9E) Out By Sphero! + More Awesome Star Wars Toys and Tech for Force Friday

BB-8 is a lovable little ball-shaped droid from Star Wars. We all know him. But what if there was an evil version of him? Force Friday is just around the corner, and will start tonight at midnight ins several stores. This is the second Force Friday so far, the first back in 2015 before The Force Awakens , and this one will have merchandise from The Last Jedi released. Sphero has announced two new app-controlled droids to go along with their previously released BB-8. These are R2-D2, and BB-9E (an evil version of BB-8).  All three droids can be remote-controlled by either using the free app, or can be motion controlled  by the Force Band wristband (sold seperately, bundled with the BB-8 only). Here are video trailers for all of them: This is the video for BB-9E: This is the video for all three robots, BB-8, R2-D2. and BB-9E: The droids can interact with other Star Wars app-enabled droids by Sphero. They also have a "Watch With Me...

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Game Review (Nintendo Switch)

Today I will be reviewing the game Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, released for the Nintendo Switch. Game Summary The game is a Switch port of the Wii U go-kart racing game "Mario Kart 8", which was released back in 2014. It is the same as the Wii U version, but with improved graphics, and some added features to make it the "Deluxe" version. First of all, they added new characters, which include characters from the Animal Crossing games, Link from The Legend of Zelda , and Inkling Boy/Girl from Splatoon . Second of all, there is the 200cc race mode, which is unbelievably fast (you'l need to brake often in this one). A cool new things is also that you can hold two items at once before you use them.  Smart Steering is a helpful addition for newcomers to the game, though it is hidden in the menus where it can be toggled on/off. I don't use kt myself, but I turn it off for friends or family members playing multiplayer with me that have either never pla...

TTHT Upgrade 7.5 + List of Features

Seeing as this blog only has less than four thousand views left until it reaches 100 thousand views, I released an upgrade to my blog that would fill in the gap between the current 7.0 and upcoming 8.0, and also change the problems with the template that 7.0 had. So TTHT Upgrade 7.5 is officially out! Here is the list of features and changes: The most obvious one is that I changed the template entirely. It was previously "Noteable", now it is the template called "Contempo".  "Contempo" is a template very similar to my previous one except: The toolbar is on the left side of the screen, so that you see my archive, translation button, popular posts list, and other widgets, instead of them being hidden until you click a button on the top. The toolbar will only be hidden if you zoom in on the page, and can be shown again by clicking the three lines at the top-left of the page. The featured post is in a smaller box on the homepage so that it d...

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Game Review with No Spoilers (Nintendo Switch)

This will be a game review of "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild", released for the Nintendo Switch and Wii U systems. The version I had was the Switch version, far superior than the Wii U because, A. The graphics are insanely better, B. You can take the game with you anywhere, and C. Who the heck wants to buy a Wii U at this point? This game is a system seller, the only reason the pick up the Switch on its launch date. Even though months later from the release, some other amazing games came out, I am confident that this will remain not only the best Switch game so far (maybe until Mario Odyssey comes out in the winter), but also my personal favorite game of all time. A Beautiful Masterpiece of a Game What's the point of even adding an underlined section for my rating out of 5 stars? You have already heard countless times from others that this game is near perfect. It is literally 10/10 IGN (I'm not even joking about the meme, it literally says so on IGN...

Nintendo Teams Up With Cartoon Network For an Animated Switch Ad Campaign

This is both the weirdest and coolest thing that I've seen all day. Cartoon Network has launched a series of ads featuring animations of characters from their network's shows playing the Switch. It all started when I was on the Nintendo YouTube channel, and then I saw a video with this thumbnail seen below: Why were the characters from the cartoon about bears or whatever holding a Nintendo Switch controller in their hands? I thought I was seeing things that weren't actually there. So I actually watched the video. It is an short commercial animation with the official voice actors and everything, and literally has two characters from "We Bare Bears" playing the game Arms on the Nintendo Switch. They have made another one as well, showing them playing Splatoon 2. The animation looks a bit more sloppy than what you see on the actual show, but that's okay since it is only an ad and it wouldn't be necessary to spend so much money pro...

Why People Should Stop Caring About the SNES Classic Edition

Calling all 40-something year olds! Did you play video games as a kid? Do you have nostalgia for the original Nintendo systems? Let me reword this a bit: Do you have so much nostalgia for the NES and SNES that you are willing to spend $80 on a mini version that is super hard to pre-order that probably only 10 people will actually get it?  If you answered yes to all these questions, especially that last one, then chances are that you want to buy a SNES classic edition. The SNES Mini Classic Edition, similar to the NES classic last year, is a small version of the classic console with several retro games pre-installed on it. Pre-orders have been live for the past few days. I hear you already opening up a new tab and frantically typing up GameStop or Target or Best Buy or whatever other site it is to pre-order this thing. Hold on just for a second. There was no need to actually go to the site. Chances are, its already sold out everywhere. When it first was available for ...

1-2 Switch - Game Review (Nintendo Switch) + How to Unstuck Joy-Con Wrist Straps

Today I will be reviewing the game 1-2 Switch, for the Nintendo Switch (obviously). 1-2 Switch is basically the console's tech demo. It serves the same purpose for the Switch as "Wii Sports"   did for the Wii.  My Rating (Out of 5 Stars) and Game Summary 3.8 stars out of 5 This means that I gave the game a 76% review. I think that the game is overall fun, especially if you're at a party or a place where there are a lot of people to play together with, but it certainly isn't worth its $50 price tag. The games are very simple and short, and won't last you a while. While there are a few fun ones in the collection of 28 exercise mini-games that it offers, I found many to be boring and repetitive . I think that the price should have been 20 or 30 dollars cheaper. Some people say that it should have been bundled with the console, but I disagree since that would just drive the console's price higher and repel hardcore gamers from buying the S...

The Great American Eclipse!

Today is a very rare ocassion: there will be a total solar eclipse, which scientists are calling "The Great American Eclipse". If you have payed attention at all in science class, the phrase "solar eclipse" should sound familiar to you. What, you're saying that you didn't pay attention to what Mr./ Mrs. [Teacher] was saying? Bad child! If you keep on going like this, don't expect good grades! Just kidding, obviously. What is a solar eclipse, you may ask? Image source:  http://www.cnn.com/2012/11/13/world/asia/solar-eclipse-australia-explained/index.html To make a long scientific mumbo-jumbo short, basically a solar eclipse is when the moon gets between the Earth and the Sun at the precise location to block out our view of the Sun, temporarily. (Not permanent. That would be very bad.) Just look at the diagram above. Google changed today's logo for the occassion: However, solar eclipses don't always happen total. They can also be p...

Personal Update and News: Arduino Robotics Camp, Nintendo GETS SUED, Nintendo World Championship 2017, and MORE!!

Hello everyone! This is Arca!  I have been away for a while and have not been able to post often when I was in Turkey. Now that I am back, I plan to make a post a day for the remainder of the summer. Consider this as a catch-up post, full of lots of news divided into different sections. Since I have left, some interesting things have happened regarding Nintendo, and I would like to share some of this news with you. Before I share this gaming news with you, I would like to share a personal update about the summer camp I went to last week. It was an Arduino robotics and programming camp on the campus of High Tech High School. Arduino Summer Camp + How to Make Your Robot Sing "All Star" + Chaos With Bonzi Buddy Last week, I went to a Arduino camp that took place on the campus of High Tech High School. What is Arduino, you may ask? Arduino is an open-source programming language that controls a small chip called an Arduino Board, which you attach to your comput...
